He was a professional photographer in the early 1920’s. I am 86, used a simple camera in my youth. When I retired, my first stop was a camera store in

Chicago. Since then I have been taking journeys around the world and my backyard in Austin, TX. My garden is a poor woman’s Givenchy in France. I photograph nature, birds, flowers, whatever I think is beautiful. TRavel with a minimal bag of optics, enter Outdoor Photographer contests, won ist place several years ago as well as a few other contests. I am too old to turn professional but love my choice for retirement. You need to check out our National Parks in Arizona, Utah,New Mexico etc. Truly mind blowing scenery. Keep up the good work. Keep self study going, it only gets better https:sondrasheren.zenfolio.com if you care to look.

Hi Stephen! Thank you for the question about my company name. It did start out as a tongue and check reference (I originally had a similar url) but when I realized that my calling was teaching, I changed it to Cannon. Given my quick rise, it just seemed to fit. Plus is makes for a great tagline: “Accelerate Your Learning!” If you are looking at making the jump in the future, OPG is a great place to get started in landscape photography. I am always available to answer any questions, so don’t be shy! Take care and good luck!

Thank you very much, Ric! Great to hear from you! I am not sure there is a coffee table book in my future, but there will be a new ebook out soon. Be sure to join my mailing list at ShotOutofaCannon.com to be the first to know about it!

A play on the Canon brand name or another reason? Loved reading how you progressed from 5 years ago. Hoping it might be me someday

He is easy-going and up front about wanting to help new photographers get off to a good start. I eagerly await a coffee table book of his photography. When will that be, CB?
