Hi Ronald, a few years ago, My wife gave me an old make-up bag. I put my camera in it when I’m out and it does a great job of keeping my camera and lens dry. The only problem I’ve had is there isn’t enough room for my camera and along lens.

The Blue Ridge Parkway offer many overlook pullouts with great views for fall. The following are in NC between Blowing Rock and Asheville . Rough Ridge, Beacon Heights, Craggy Gardens, Crabtree Falls, Grandfather Mtn. State Park on Rt 105 near Linville, and Grandfather Mtn. [pay attraction]. Rough Ridge and Beacon Heights require an easy to moderate hike, but fantastic views.

I also tell my aunt & uncle what I’ve learned because they’ve been taking pictures since the summer of 1981. They often give me advice on how to take better pictures. Keep up the good work * thank you.

It’s in the Appalachian Mtns. As a lifelong resident I might be a little bias about the area but not the prediction. Good luck

Hi Ronald, I sometimes carry a small umbrella, using a clamp to connect it to my tripod and angling the umbrella over my camera. Works great if it isn’t windy! You can also try a lens rain cover such as this one: https://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/1235782-REG/ruggard_rc_p8_rain_cover_for.html

But there are plenty of different options out there!

I try to carry only what I need when hiking and have started carrying a poncho, any other tips?

There’s no doubt that that you ought to publish more
on this issue, it might not be a taboo subject but typically people don’t discuss these issues.
To the next! All the best!!
