Description

You’re tired of lugging heavy camera gear on your outdoor photo excursions. You might be in the market for a new camera. In this sponsored video lesson, Outdoor Photography Guide’s David Johnston takes you outdoors and demonstrates the features, advantages, and benefits of the Fujifilm X-H2 mirrorless camera.

When David reviews a new camera, he examines three areas: size, durability, and quality. In terms of size and weight, the X-H2 is lightweight and can be easily carried in one hand. He claims the firm hand grip is the best he’s ever used in the outdoors. The hand grip also allows easy accessibility to the app buttons that control exposure, ISO settings, and more. The lenses are also lightweight. David’s favorite is the versatile FujiFilm 56mm F1.2 lens. The X-H2 camera is structured in a do-it-all size in a very good camera body.

As for durability, the Fujifilm X-H2 features an LCD screen with protective siding that flips out and around. It works well if you are positioned low to the ground. In terms of weather resistance, the Fujifilm X-H2 operating capability ranges from minus 10 to plus 40 degrees Celsius. And with the humidity rating of ten to eighty percent, you can take the camera almost anywhere outdoors.

In terms of quality, David praises the consistent quality of Fujifilm cameras and lenses. Located on the top, the Fujifilm X-H2 menu shows you all the settings you need to know. The image quality is beautiful as David shows you images he captured on a recent outdoor photography trip. If you are a videographer, the X-H2 also captures stunning video files.

After evaluating the Fujifilm X-H2 in varying weather conditions, David concludes that the camera has a solid professional feel. In this sponsored video lesson, Outdoor Photography Guide’s pro David Johnston shows you why he is enthused by the durable but lightweight Fujifilm X-H2 mirrorless camera.

Hey, what's up guys? Professional outdoor photographer David Johnston here for "Outdoor Photography Guide" and today I want to tell you about one of my favorite cameras that I've used recently and that's the Fujifilm X-H2. In this video, I'm gonna be breaking down how I felt about this camera using the topics of size, durability and quality. And I'll also be sharing some of my favorite features that I found while I was out using the lens too. So first, let's cover size and for a mirrorless camera like this, one of my favorite things I love about these is the size and the feel to them. What I love about this is the hand grip. It's basically one of the best hand grips that I've ever used while out taking photos, I never felt like I was gonna be fumbling around with the camera. I always felt like I had a really firm grip with it and the accessibility to a lot of the buttons on this camera we're very easy to access while I did have my hand on the hand grip. Now the size and weight of this camera were actually very lightweight. I really enjoyed the ability to just take this out of the bag, take it anywhere I wanted to go. I was shooting off of docks, I was shooting out of boats, on the move, and I was never afraid that this camera's actually gonna go anywhere when it was in my hands. So the size and the weight on this is really good. You can take this on long flights if you're going overseas for a photography trip, or you can take it locally as well. It's basically a do-it-all size in a very good camera body. One of the things I love about size with mirrorless cameras too is the lens size that you have with these. I used several lenses. My favorite that I used was the Fujifilm 56 millimeter F 1.2 lens. The reason that I love this lens is that it gave a great look to anything that I was photographing. Plus it's small, lightweight, can stick it in my bag and have lots of other lenses there with me as well. It was a great lens that I used pretty much almost the entire time that I was out shooting on this specific trip. So when I'm talking about size and weight, a camera like this, the Fuji Film, XH2 can go anywhere with you and do the job that you want it to do. The quality was there and I'm gonna get more into quality in just a second. Next up I wanna talk about durability. Now, the weather resistance on this camera is actually really good. I love the durability of the LCD screen and how it had this protective siding on it that you can flip the LCD screen out and have it wherever you want it. You can film with it if you want to film yourself or you can just look at how your camera, I found it really useful when I was getting low to the ground and I needed to flip that LCD screen around to be able to see exactly what I was doing. And then the protection on the LCD screen on this back part is perfect there in case you're ever worried about getting the LCD screen damaged. This protects that really, really well. Now, in terms of weather resistance, this has a great operating capability of minus 10 to plus 40 degrees Celsius. So you can basically take this almost anywhere you want to go when you're out shooting. It also has a humidity rating of 10 to 80% so you're good to go in those humid conditions, in the hot conditions it was pretty humid where we were down shooting, in Texas and Louisiana gets pretty hot and humid down there. But I was never worried carrying this camera and lens around with me. I always knew that it could stand up to the conditions that we were shooting in. So weather resistance and durability on this camera, it has a very solid, professional feel to it and I loved that about this camera. Next, let's get into quality. I was never concerned about image quality when I was using the Fujifilm X-H2 because I know the quality that Fujifilm produces. I think Fujifilm X-H2 has the best lenses on the market. This 56 millimeter F 1.2 lens did great. I also used a couple other lenses with me while I was out, the wide angle eight to 16 millimeter was fantastic while I was using it and I had a lot of fun playing around with their lenses. The image quality on this camera too in a mirrorless body was fantastic. The X-H2 produced perfect photos. I couldn't have asked for anything better quality wise. Plus, if you're wanting to do video too, this camera makes great video files as well so you don't have to worry about sacrificing image quality versus video quality. This camera can do it both. Now, I mentioned some of my favorite features about this camera, and I want to get into those now. My first favorite feature that I already mentioned was the LCD screen protector here where you can flip it around and close it but I also loved the top menu option where you can actually see what you're shooting in this menu, it shows you your shutter speed, your F-stop on top. It shows your iso, you know your camera battery life. If you're shooting in manual. All of that is accessible just looking at the top of your camera which I loved about this. Usually you have to constantly check your LCD. I can easily just look down and see what I'm using on the top of the camera. I mentioned the grip and how accessible it was to a lot of the camera buttons, but I thought my favorite thing about this was that I could easily just hit the customizable buttons on this camera and not worry about having to constantly look down and see where those were. They placed these customizable buttons perfectly on the camera. So I had these set to changing my ISO, changing the display on my camera, and I could easily flip through those while just standing here and touching them with my extra fingers because they did a lot of thought in placing these exactly where you would have your fingers on the front of your camera. So you have customizable buttons on the top of this camera, you have your ISO button, a white balance button, a customizable button. You have one right here on the camera and one right here on the camera as well. Lots of options for you to set this camera up based on quick access buttons and customizable buttons that you want to quickly get to. If you're using something like back button auto focus, you can easily set one of these customizable buttons to do that as well. Fantastic build quality across the board with this camera. I had a lot of fun using the Fujifilm X-H2 in the field both the camera and the lenses that they have available to them in the X series lenses as well. Fantastic camera, I can't recommend it enough.
