In your outdoor photography adventures, you probably do a lot of hiking, and it can be difficult carrying loads of camera gear. A small versatile camera could be the ticket. In this sponsored video lesson Outdoor Photography Guide’s David Johnston shares his impressions of the lightweight OM SYSTEM OM-5 camera, ideal for wilderness and everyday exploration.

David shows you how the compact OM SYSTEM OM-5 can do almost anything you need in the field. Beside the camera, there are optional lightweight lenses: a 12-45mm lens, a 40-150mm lens, and an ultra wide angle. The OM SYSTEM OM-5 is designed for an active photographer who loves hiking, paddle boarding, boating, or even mountain climbing.

If you carry a full frame camera but want a handheld option, the OM SYSTEM OM-5 is a practical backup camera. It will fit easily into the small sleeve of your camera bag. This camera is also durable – dust proof, water resistant, freeze proof, and heat proof. In the desert or in the snow, the OM SYSTEM OM-5 will not let you down. David claims it has the best weather-proofing for a camera he has seen in his professional career.

The OM SYSTEM OM-5 features are practical. The sealed LCD screen can be rotated and flipped out, which can protect the screen from the elements. The camera also features speed through fast frames per second, meaning capturing wildlife on the move. The auto focus feature is extremely quick and makes it easier to shoot swift moving objects. There is also the live ND feature for smoothing out images of waterfalls and lakes for those silky reflections. Clouds will turn fluffy. You won’t need the ND lens filter.

In this sponsored video lesson Outdoor Photography Guide’s pro David Johnston introduces a highly functional new OM SYSTEM OM-5 camera with versatile features that just might suit your needs. Small, lightweight, and durable, and with numerous bells and whistles, you can take the OM SYSTEM OM-5 anywhere.

Ive been using the OM5's predecessor, the OM-D E-M5 Mk II and always loved the light weight and the weather dust sealing. I am however a big fan of the 12-100 F4 lens, a bit more versatile than the 12-40 and 40-150 but a bit slower. The live ND is something I look forward to, in the future when the 5/II needs replacing. Similarly the high definition hand held feature looks great.
