Now we have to talk about the single most important accessory for outdoor photography, and that is the lens cloth. All of your expensive camera gear, all your expensive lenses will be for nothing when you get schmutz on your lens. And you will get schmutz on your lens. Whether you're out photographing in the rain, you'll get rain on your lens. There's dirt flying around, and dust, if you're working in a desert environment. If you're on the coast you're gonna get salt spray all over your lens. So carry lens cloths with you. And don't just carry one, carry a bunch of them, because when they get wet and they get dirty, you don't want to be using them anymore. So I carry as many as I can, and I'm always keeping my lenses as clean as possible. I get the dirt, I get the oil, I get the sea salt off the lenses to maximize my image quality.
