Photographing people on the streets can be challenging but rewarding. In this video, professional photographer Ian Plant shows you that it can also be fun if you are prepared.

“When you are on the streets with your camera, look for people who have a story to tell,” Ian suggests. You will learn how to stay in the background and appear unobtrusive. Techniques include using a telephoto to keep your distance, setting up your tripod with live view, or even going in close to ask permission. The goal is to capture people doing something unscripted.

Walk the streets with pro shooter Ian Plant for tips on how to photograph people.
