The New Age of AI Masking in Lightroom
David JohnstonDoes Artificial Intelligence (AI) interest you? Can AI help improve your images in post processing? In this premium video, Outdoor Photography Guide’s David Johnston shows that AI is your friend.
AI masking in Lightroom should be used to make specific adjustments. David works on his image of wetlands - pond, marsh, sky. After minor edits in Tone and Clarity, he brings up the Color Mixer and adjusts the sky colors.
Now it’s time for AI and the masking button. The Landscape mask divides the photo into three masks - vegetation, sky, water. David makes color, clarity and contrast edits on the water, vegetation, and sky masks. To finalize the image, he adds a vignette around his image in order to centralize the subject.
AI masks add precision to images. Try them out on your own photographs.
