Spoil Islands

In this session, you will follow the photographers to Spoil Island, which is right off Tampa Bay on the west side of the state. With its location off the gulf coast, there is a unique makeup of plant and wildlife.

Photography from a boat is often a requirement when visiting areas such as Spoil Islands and other coastal regions of Florida. Make sure to bring a strong, sturdy tripod. With the tripod, you may be able to set up in shallow water. Just make sure to protect equipment with appropriate water gear.

Additionally, don’t be afraid of holding down the shutter to capture a large number of photographs at once. This way you can capture the perfect shot. Animals, especially birds, not only move quickly but have fast moving areas of the body. Burning through more images at once allows for a greater chance of capturing the best image possible.
