Don’t ignore the spaces underneath the bridges in your urban landscape; they often contain unusual features that can create great photographs. Layne is on location in Minneapolis, Minnesota, to see what kinds of stories he can capture.

The stories of the urban landscape are taking place in every part of your city, and you can tell the ones others may miss by looking where others ignore. Going underneath a major bridge in the heart of Minneapolis, Layne shows in this session how to compose your shots using an architectural oddity. You will gain some understanding of white balance, pick some color choices for your shots, and study composition. You will see the effect of taking several different shots from wide angle to closer exposures of the same subject. Layne also demonstrates composing shots using empty space for a variety of purposes.
